INDIANAPOLIS — The Lost Dog Gallery will feature Indy Latina Artists (ILA) with “Keeping It Caliente,” a collection of artwork themed around the heat of summer, Latina culture, spiciness, and warmer color palettes. The show will open during the First Friday art tour, 5-9 p.m., Friday, July 7. The Lost Dog Gallery is located at 1040 East New York Street, and admission and parking are free.
Six ILA members will be participating in the show: Co-founders Mirvia Sol Eckert and Mary Mindiola; members Rosa Maria Dies, Nettie Viera, and Francis Ruiz, and this will mark the debut of new member Jazlyn Gómez. Each artist will draw on her background and personal interpretation of the word “caliente,” “hot” in Spanish, and each will work in her own medium, from paint to collage with explorations between.
