• The Genealogical Society of Marion County will present a free hybrid program on Saturday, June 10 from 1-3 p.m. at their library, located at 9370 E. Washington St. The program will help you find your American Revolutionary ties and discuss what documents are needed for membership into the Daughters of the American Revolution or the Sons of the American Revolution. • Arts for Lawrence is hosting the Teddy Bear Series, presented by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The first show, “Monkey’s Jungle Jam” will be held Tuesday, June 3 at 11 a.m. at the Theatre at the Fort, 8920 Otis Ave. and is recommended for kids 3-7. Young children will have a chance to try real violins and interact with musicians at the end of the program. Admission is free, but registration is required online at artsforlawrence.org
• The Indianapolis Public Library will hold a store book sale Saturday, June 19 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Library Services Center, 2450 N. Meridian. Buy new and used books and other items at discounted prices, and help out the library!
• June 14 is Flag Day, when we commemorate the adoption of the U.S. flag on June 14, 1777. It’s also the day the U.S. Army was “born” in 1775.
• The Crazy Lake Acting Co. will present “Play On” June 23-July 2 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St. in Greenfield. It is a play within a play about a theatre group trying to put on a play despite a playwright’s constant rewrites. Tickets are $10 in advance at CrazyLakeActing.com.
