INDIANAPOLIS — Community Health Network is requiring all caregivers, patients, and visitors to wear a face mask at all times at all sites throughout Central Indiana due to a rise in COVID, flu, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infections in the past couple of weeks.
Visitor restrictions due to the flu outbreak in Central Indiana were implemented last week. In addition, patients are encouraged to take advantage of several health care options outside of the Emergency Department, including urgent care at MedChecks, Community Clinics at Walgreens, primary care givers, and virtual care options.
Community Health Network encourages everyone to get their COVID immunizations, plus influenza and pnuemonia vaccines this year.
According to the Indiana Dept. of Health Coronavirus dashboard, casts of COVID have been increasing since Thanksgiving of this year. While few deaths and hospitalizations have been reported so far, COVID remains a serious illness, especially among the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions.
