IRVINGTON — The Irvington Community Council and the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival presented the framed award certificates (by artist Daric Kindle) to the recipients of the 2022 Founder’s Awards last Sunday, October 23rd at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center (5350 E. University).
The Council recognized Lisa Bennett, owner of Black Sheep Gifts and Josephine’s for her advocacy on behalf of all Irvington small business owners; Mary Jane Eichacker Kaufman for years of support to the Benton House and Irvington Circle Park; Kevin Friedly and David Newman of Audio Diner who’s music has entertained Irvingtonians for years; Chris Maroldo (president of the Council for six years) and Cathie Carrigan for their tireless efforts on behalf of Irvington Terrace on the Irvington Community Council; and lastly but very well deserved to Nancy Tindall-Sponsel and Manuel Aguilar for their faithful stewardship of the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival for many years and their volunteerism spirit. The event was very well attended and a reception was given.
