• Coffee with a Cop for East District will be held on Wednesday, May 4 from 4-5 p.m. at the McDonalds at 4705 E. 10th St. This is a casual coffee and conversation opportunity with our local police officers.

• East 10th St. is now open to College Ave.! After months of frustration, construction has been completed on this important street into and out of downtown.
• Indianapolis has been struggling with staffing for the Dept. of Public Works, and heavy trash has not been picked up for months. The city is working through a big backlog of pickups, and even weekly regular trash has been delayed in some areas. Please call the Mayor’s Action Center at 317-327-4622 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or visit them at indy.gov/agency/mayors-action-center for service.
• The Persimmon Herb School is hosting a native plant walk with Greg Monzel through Ellenberger Park on Wednesday, May 18 at 6 p.m. The park is a treasure of native species with medicinal or edible uses. • Congratulations to Joanna Taft, the CEO of the Harrison Center for the Arts, for being awarded the Kairos Nonprofit Scholarship recently. She will receive one year of executive coaching services.
• Independent Bookstore Day is April 30, so everyone should go out and support the independent book stores of their choice! • La Keisha Jackson has been promoted to CEO of Pathway Resource Center, which provides affordable housing and resources that promote resident self-sufficiency. Jackson is also a City-County Councillor. Congratulations!

Post Rd. IACS has several positions open for people who love animals and want to help make Indianapolis a better place. Other agencies are also in desperate need of employees right now, so check out the fair!
• Little Flower Church is collecting food in a drive on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Items collected at the church will go to the Shepherd Community on East Washington and the food box in Irvington to help serve the hungry on the east side. Please bring non-perishable items, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, pet food, baby items, etc. Drop off is on the front steps of the church, 4720 E. 13th St. (corner of N. Bosart and 13th).
