Property Tax Bills in Mailboxes

INDIANAPOLIS — The 2022 property tax bills have been mailed and e-mail tax statements were sent out starting Saturday, April 2. “Roughly 355,000 property tax bills are in the printing process and will hit the mail on or about April 8,” noted Marion County Treasurer Lawrence. “In addition, for those taxpayers who’ve provided an e-mail address, notices began going out this past weekend.”
Lawrence urged taxpayers to use a variety of convenient “Remote Pay” options to pay their property tax bills. “It’s that time of year again, and while no one particularly likes paying property taxes, we’re trying to make it as convenient and contact-free as possible,” noted Lawrence. “While these options have traditionally been available, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we looked at collections and placed a focus on remote pay options.”
Taxpayers have a variety of “Remote Pay” options, which are ways to pay your property tax bill from anywhere rather than in-person at the Treasurer’s Office. The options include:
•  Monthly or semi-annual automatic deductions
• Online payment options, including credit card and PayPal
• Online E-check using bank account and routing number
• Paperless e-billing
• Voice Pay by Phone at 317-327-4829
• Pay by text
Taxpayers can always simply mail in the payment to the Marion County Treasurer’s Office, P. O. Box 6145, Indianapolis, IN 46206; or, drop their payment in one of the Payment Drop Boxes located on the 1st and 10th floors of the City County Building, 200 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis.
For more information or to pay online, please go to treasurer.indy.gov and click on “Pay Your Property Taxes or View Current Tax Bill”. Taxpayers with questions regarding their property tax bill or any of the payment options can contact the Treasurer’s Office at 317-327-4444.
While contact-free payment is urged, pay-in-person options are also available at the City-County Building (Room 1001) and at branches of the following partner banks: Financial Center First Credit Union, First Financial Bank, Merchants Bank of Indiana, STAR Financial, and Stock Yards Bank & Trust.
Property tax bills are due May 10th for the spring billing cycle and November 10th for the fall billing cycle.
