INDIANAPOLIS — The City of Indianapolis and the Indy Arts Council recently announced the 60 recipients of the second round of the Annual Grants Program COVID-19 Relief Fund, designed to help nonprofit arts organizations pay for rent or mortgages, utilities, personnel, and other reimbursable COVID-19 related expenses. Indy Arts Council served as the administrator for this grant.
The second round was made possible through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding and approved by the Indianapolis City-County Council. The fund was available to Marion County-based nonprofit arts and culture organizations that are currently funded through the 2021 City of Indianapolis Annual Grant Program.
The Indy Arts Council staff and Board of Directors’ Grants Committee reviewed and approved 60 grant applications to the fund in December and January, awarding a total of $496,000 for this round.
Recipients include ArtMix, Buck Creek Players, Dance Kaleidoscop, the Eiteljorg, Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, Footlight Musicals, Indianapolis Zoo, Heartland Film, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Arts for Lawrence, Kan-Kan Cinema, Fringe Festival, and Young Actors Theater (REACT).
