INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW) closed Emerson Avenue between Southeastern Avenue and Raymond Street for a bridge rehabilitation project. Emerson Avenue over Bean Creek. The street should fully reopen to traffic later this summer.
Traffic traveling north on Emerson Avenue will be directed to use Raymond Street and Southeastern Avenue. Southbound traffic should follow Southeastern Avenue and Raymond Street to rejoin with Emerson Avenue. While the bridge over Bean Creek will be completely closed during construction, residents and businesses on either side of the closure will have access to properties.
When complete, the $840,000 improvement project will include a new superstructure, bridge decking and approaches, two 11-foot travel lanes, two six-foot sidewalks, along with drainage improvements south of the bridge. For more information, visit indy.gov/dpw.
