City-County Council Announces Redistricting Forums

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis City-County Council has released the full schedule of upcoming public forums designed to solicit residents’ input on the 2022 redistricting process, which state statute dictates the Council must complete this year.
The public forums, free and open to any resident of Marion County, are being planned, hosted, and facilitated by Engaging Solutions LLC. The effort marks the first time in Indianapolis history that the Council is beginning the redistricting process with a public information and engagement campaign.
The first event in the series is Saturday, Jan. 22, from 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m. in the media center at Perry Meridian High School, 401 W. Meridian School Rd. Punjabi and Chin (multiple dialects) interpreters will be present. All Marion County residents are welcome and encouraged to participate in any of the nine public forums to make their voice heard. Participants at Your Voice 2022 forums should plan to follow the COVID safety protocols the host facility has in place on the day of that event. MSD Perry Township currently requires all visitors to be masked while inside a school property.
Engaging Solutions also launced a Your Voice 2022 Web site that offers additional detail, including language accessibility options, and more information about Your Voice 2022 forum participants can expect.
