INDIANAPOLIS — Heartland Film, Inc., the nonprofit organizer of the Heartland International Film Festival (HIFF), has announced its first slate of special event titles to be featured at its 30th anniversary edition, October 7-17, across Indianapolis.
Julia from Sony Pictures Classics and Directors Julie Cohen and Betsy West is the 30th HIFF Opening Night Event title. The Humans from A24 and Director Stephen Karam is the 30th HIFF Centerpiece title. The Electrical Life of Louis Wain from Amazon Studios and Director Will Sharpe is the 30th HIFF Closing Night Event title.
Mass from Bleecker Street Media and Director Fran Kranz is the 30th HIFF Showcase Event title. Bergman Island from IFC Films and Director Mia Hansen-Løve is the 30th HIFF Spotlight Event title. Jagged from HBO Documentary Films and Director Alison Klayman is the 30th HIFF Music Event title. Flee from NEON and Director Jonas Poher Rasmussen is the 30th HIFF World Event title.
The 30th Heartland International Film Festival will feature more than 125 films in a hybrid format, offering both in-person screenings across Indianapolis venues Living Room Theaters, Kan-Kan Cinema and Brasserie, Newfields, Indianapolis Art Center, in addition to the Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin, Ind., and select virtual titles via the Eventive virtual festival platform. All the event titles featured above will be in-person only.
