INDIANAPOLIS – A 20th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Tribute will be unveiled on Saturday, September 11 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Rd. The memorial will be permanently housed and suspended from the lobby of the multi-purpose center and bear the names of all 2,977 victims who lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks. The unveiling is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 8:15 a.m. It will include a program with brief comments from Flanner Buchanan owner Bruce W. Buchanan followed by a moment of silence.
Veteran Josh Bleill will then share his personal story. Bleill, who is well known throughout the state, survived a bomb explosion in Iraq with the loss of his legs and two friends. After two years of extensive rehabilitation, Corporal Bleill is a walking, talking symbol of hope that uses his story to motivate and inspire others as he believes in and lives the American Dream.
