INDIANAPOLIS — September 11, 2021 will be the 60th anniversary of Zeta Iota Chapter Irvington Indianapolis East of Tri Kappa. In 1961 the chapter started with 25 sisters and now there are 59 sisters. The object of Tri Kappa is to bring women into close, unselfish relationships for the promotion of charity, culture, and education. There are many chapters throughout the state of Indiana.
For the last sixty years, the organizations has supported many charity organizations by having fundraisers such as Breakfast with Santa, Style Shows, bus trips, gift card raffles, and the last few years they have had Purse Bingo. Part of the funds go to a yearly scholarship rotated among local high schools: Warren Central, Tech, and Scecina.
The organization not only donates to charities, but they have also volunteered to help organizations such as the Ronald McDonald house, Coburn Place, Hope Center, Kids Again, Irvies from Irvington, and the Halloween Festival in Irvington.
The Zeta will be celebrating 60 years at Maple Creek Golf Club for a dinner, and doing some volunteer work to honor their 60 years of being a chapter.
