FRANKLIN TWP. — The Franklin Township Junior League All-Stars took their State championship recently. Head coach Dave Straub noted, “It’s been a week since these guys brought home the Jr. Little League State Championship. First of all, on behalf of this team I want to thank everyone in the Franklin Township community for their support and kind words.”
At the district tournament, the team defeated Eagledale 14-1 in the championship game. In the sectional against Greenwood, they lost their first game in the best of three, 15-5 then came back to win the next two 16-9 & 16-6. In the state tournament, they went 3-0 in pool play to earn the #1 seed. In the semifinals, they won 9-2 and in the championship defeated a very talented Silver Creek team 12-2 in five innings.
