Fountain Square Creative Arts Festival

INDIANAPOLIS — On Saturday, August 7 from noon-10 p.m., a collective group of artist and entrepreneurs collaborate to build community and provide a platform for local talent and small businesses in Fountain Square. The Fountain Square Creative Arts Festival (FSCAF) organized by a group of volunteers aims to bring the neighborhood outside in support of each other and to drive business to the area post pandemic. The events will take place at the Fountain Square Plaza, 1102 Virginia Ave.
The event is centered around an art-based fashion show featuring eight artists selected to bring their creative vision to the stage, and one local fashion designer will be given the opportunity to dress celebrity model Tiffany Mitchell of the Indiana Fever. City Dogs Grocery, a women owned specialty grocery store in the area will host two dog adoptions in their parking lot as part of the event. Neighborhood businesses will offer event specials and discounts during the day to encourage attendees to explore restaurants, shops, and vendors. The event will showcase live painting, spoken word poetry, music, and dance performances throughout the day in the plaza.
Members of Future Friends Holographic Magic Club (Future Friends HMC) will begin the second stage of repainting Fountain Square Graffiti Alley throughout the day. Their work will fill in the gap space between the murals already repainted on the K & S Holdings building in June.
A special performance from the cast of Dreamgirls will spice up the day as they gear up for their September live experience at the Murat Theatre. The Dreamgirls cast is known around the globe for their unrivalled performance skills. Local band Sweet Poison Victim and DJ Metrognome will take over the plaza from 8 – 10 p.m. to end the night with great music and an open dance party. The Fashion Show starts at 6:45 p.m.
