INDIANAPOLIS — The full closure of New York Street under I-65/I-70 in downtown Indianapolis will occur on or after August 2. In anticipation of this closure, traffic patterns on local streets in the area will also shift.
Beginning on or after Monday, August 2, New York Street between East Street and Pine Street will be closed through August 10, weather permitting. All eastbound vehicular traffic wishing to continue on New York Street will be directed south onto Ohio Street. Motorists wishing to travel northbound can use New York Street to access College Avenue. All pedestrian traffic will be redirected to Vermont Street.
Local access traffic patterns on Davidson Street has also shifted. Local access to residents and businesses between East Street and Davidson Street will be maintained. During the closure of New York Street, local street parking will be temporarily restricted on Davidson Street. Traffic flow in the area will be monitored throughout the duration of the closure.
