INDIANA — The state of Indiana reports that COVID-19 vaccinations have plateaued in July, and that 43% of the population is fully vaccinated. However, cases of COVID-19 infection have been rising statewide since the end of June.
In Marion County, 20-29 year-olds are showing the most positive cases. This is also the age group less likely to be fully vaccinated.
The most prevalent variant of COVID-19 in new positive cases is the Delta variant, with 74% of samples showing Delta in July.
Vaccinations are encouraged and are available free for everyone. There are also select mobile clinics available. Visit oursot.in.gov for information and to schedule vaccinations, or call 211.
According to local health rules, all unvaccinated individuals are required to continue to wear face masks and practice social distancing when in indoor public places.
