LAWRENCE — Save the date for an open-air, family-friendly concert with an evening of summer songs played by the talented Castleton Quartet. The show will be on Thursday, July 29 from 7-8 p.m. (gates open at 6:15 p.m.) at the Ft. Ben Arts Campus Amphitheater, 8920 Otis Ave. in Lawrence. As an added attraction, Micah Young, pianist, and co-winner of the Michael Ben and Illene Komisarow Maurer Young Musicians Contest, will be featured as a soloist on a few musical selections. The concert venue is a brand-new outdoor amphitheater on the Ft. Ben Cultural Campus with a rain location inside the Ft. Ben Theater-at-the-Fort on the same site.
Tickets are $10 for high school and above. Children attend free. Parking is also free for concert attendees. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Additionally, Arts for Lawrence Foundation will provide and operate a wine/beer tent as well as a non-alcoholic drinks and snacks concession.
