Tire Recycle Day June 26

INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County Health Dept. will hold a Tire Recycling Day on Saturday, June 26 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at two locations: Mosquito Control (4001 E. 21st St.) and SECO (1925 Fletcher Ave.). There is a limit of six tires per vehicle, and passenger car tires only will be accepted. Tires must be without rims. The drop-off is intended only for Marion County residents, and not by tire retailers or auto salvage yards.
Tires are a prime breeding ground for mosquitoes, including those responsible for West Nile Virus and other serious illnesses.

East Side Streets Closing for Construction

INDIANAPOLIS — Michigan St. will be closed between Davidson and Pine streets until July 1 for overhead bridge demolition.
College Av. will be closed until July 16 between 11th and 13th streets for overhead bridge demolition. Traffic will be detoured to Central Ave.
Rain Barrel Build Workshop Registration Opens

INDIANAPOLIS — Reconnecting to Our Waterways (ROW) and the Marion County Solid and Water Conservation District will hold a workshop for Indy residents on July 29 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Boner Fitness & Learning Center.  Space is limited to 25 people; register at www.eventbrite under workshops and search for “Workshops for a Cleaner Waterway.” A limit of two people per household can register. All participants must wear a mask and practice social distancing during the event.
The evening will include information about water conservation and stormwater management for the home. Indy residents living along Pogue’s Run will be able to build their own rain barrel to capture stormwater off their home downspouts.
