INDIANAPOLIS — Movies and music are returning to Indy Parks this summer. Indy Parks is bringing back its Summer Concert and Movie Series, with 60 concerts and four movies planned across six parks this summer. The series will kick off at Holliday Park on Saturday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. with a performance by Huckleberry Funk and Allison Victoria.
From May through September, park goers can enjoy the sounds of jazz at Eagle Creek Park Beach or the eclectic styles of alternative rock in a new Alt Indy series at Garfield Park’s MacAllister Amphitheater. This year’s lineup features several local artists, including the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Audiodacity, and the Half Step Sisters. Family-favorite movies including Moana and Aladdin (2019) will be shown on the multi-purpose field west of the Garfield Park Arts Center. Many concerts are free unless indicated online at rocktheruins.com.
In addition to these events, this summer will be the inaugural concert season at Taggart Memorial Amphitheater at Riverside Park. It will include shows every Thursday in August and September. Details of those events will be released soon.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, several health and safety precautions will be in effect this summer. Masks will be required to enjoy the shows, and visitors will be asked to social distance.
