INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (Indy DPW) closed East Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive between Southeastern and South Keystone Avenues to begin work on drainage improvements related to the City’s Community Justice Campus (CJC). East Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive is expected to reopen to traffic in early September.
Eastbound traffic will use Southeastern Avenue, South Sherman Drive, Prospect Street, South Keystone Avenue and Hoyt Avenue to bypass the closure.
Westbound traffic will use Hoyt Avenue, South Keystone Avenue, Prospect Street, South Sherman Drive and Southeastern Avenue.
In late May or early June, the contractor plans to close the northern lanes of Southeastern Avenue to begin structural rehabilitation of the roadway as part of infrastructure improvements related to the CJC. Two-way traffic will shift to the southern lanes of Southeastern Avenue during this phase.
During construction, two-way traffic will be maintained on Southeastern Avenue as well as access to businesses and residences. This portion of Southeastern Avenue is expected to reopen in October.
The approximately $9.2 million roadway improvement project, which includes a two-lane roundabout at Southeastern Avenue and Rural Street, enhanced connectivity and safety upgrades, is expected to be complete by Summer 2022.
