INDIANAPOLIS — On Sunday March 14, 2021 Homicide Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department made an arrest in the quadruple homicide at 338 N. Randolph Street.
On Saturday, March 13 just after 9:35 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to a report of a person shot in the 200 block of N. Randolph St. IMPD officers arrived and located an adult female with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) responded and transported her to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Officers gathered additional information which led them to the 300 block of N. Randolph St. Officers arrived and located 7-year-old Eve Moore, 23-year-old Daquan Moore, 35-year-old Anthony Johnson and 44-year-old Tomeeka Brown inside the residence with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. IEMS responded to the scene and pronounced the four victims deceased.
IMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. Through their investigation detectives learned 25-year-old Malik Halfacre allegedly fled the residence in a 2012 Chevrolet Impala and took six-month old Malia Halfacre. Detectives believed Malia Halfacre was in danger.
On March 14 in the early morning hours Detectives located six-month old, Malia Halfacre and shortly after located the vehicle. She was found safe and unharmed.
On March 14 IMPD Homicide and Violent Crimes detectives gathered information on the whereabouts of Malik Halfacre. This information led them to the 6200 block of Eastridge Dr. SWAT responded and after several hours, made entry into a residence and apprehended Malik Halfacre, who was hiding in the attic. Homicide detectives arrested Halfacre for his alleged role in these murders. The Marion County Prosecutors Office will review the case and make the final charging decision.
