UNITED STATES — The Centers for Disease Control has updated their guidance for in-person private meetings in light of reduced positive cases and deaths from COVID-19.
Individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can gather indoors with others who are fully vaccinated without masks or social distancing. However, even if fully vaccinated, individuals will still need to wear masks and socially distance in public.
Individuals who have received two vaccinations of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or one of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, must wait two weeks after getting the shot to be fully protected.
In Indiana, individuals over 50, first responders, and caregivers may receive the vaccination. Visit ourshot.in.gov to set an appointment. Appointments may also be made by calling 211.
Educators can also receive vaccinations through a special program run from select Kroger, Meijer, and Walmart pharmacies. Educators must schedule an appointment directly from their Web sites. Call 866-211-5320 for Kroger details.
Indianapolis Public Schools will resume middle and high school in-person learning beginning April 5. A remote learning option will also be available. Visit myips.org for more information.
