INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA and the City of Indianapolis have announced that the entire 2021 NCAA tournament will be held in Central Indiana. The men’s basketball tournament will be held in March and April.
Six venues have been selected for the games: Lucas Oil Stadium, Banker’s Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum on the Indiana State Fairgrounds, the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, and Mackey Arena in West Lafayette,
Selection Sunday is scheduled for March 14 and the Final Four is planned for April 3 and 5. Currently, the plan is to host 68 teams for the tournament.
The Marion County Health Department has approved COVID-19 protocols for the tournament, and testing will be provided to players, coaching staf, administrators and officials. The NCAA has partnered with Marriott properties to house most of the teams. Teams will practice at the Indiana Convention Center and will use the skywalk between the downtown hotel and facility to minimize public contact.
There has been no announcement about fans attending the games.
