Lilly Endowment Awards Grants for Emergency Needs in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — The Lilly Endowment recently awarded $17.2 million in grants to 38 organizations working to help Hoosiers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Marion County. The grants support four categories of non-profits: Community and multi-service centers, organizations helping people experiencing homelessness and survivors of domestic abuse, African-American churches and organizations that help meet basic needs, and food banks addressing food insecurity.
Some of the organizations receiving grants on the east side include Community Alliance of the Far Eastside, Englewood Community Development Corporation, John Boner Neighborhood Center, Shepherd Community, Southeast Community Services, Coburn Place, Dayspring Center, HealthNet, Horizon House, Julian Center, Wheeler Mission, Eastern Star, Kheprw Institute, New Direction Baptist Church, Gleaners Food Bank, and the Midwest Food Bank.
