Irvington Community Schools Hosts Meal Delivery

IRVINGTON — The school shutdowns due to the COVID-19 stay-at-home executive orders issued by Mayor Joe Hogsett and Gov. Eric Holcomb in mid-March doesn’t stop the need for children to be fed. So Irvington Community School, Inc. (ICS) took action.
On the program launch day, ICS personnel delivered 235 meals to 112 student households. Assisting Allen in the delivery service were Sara Bruce, Human Resources Coordinator; Bob Bowser, School Resource Officer; and Deanna Dehner, Irvington Community Elementary School Principal.
The delivery service extends to those ICS families living within a five-mile radius of Irvington Community Schools. They are left at the front porch of each home. Meals are delivered on Mondays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Any enrolled Irvington Community School student is eligible to receive the meals, as well as any other children in those households. ICS parents and guardians interested in signing up for the meal-delivery program should contact Harold Allen at hallen@ics-charter.org.
