INDIANAPOLIS — More than 3,300 of America’s finest student musicians will converge on Indianapolis in March for the 29th annual Music for All National Festival, presented by Yamaha. The festival will run March 12-14 and feature 81 concert bands, orchestras, choirs, percussion ensembles, and chamber ensembles that have been selected to perform. The invited ensembles represent 67 schools and 24 states.
The Festival takes place throughout the Indianapolis area, filling several downtown hotels and with concerts held at Clowes Hall and the Schrott Center for the Arts on the Butler campus, the Indiana Historical Society, the Palladium in Carmel, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Warren Center for the Performing Arts, and the Zionsville Performing Arts Center. For the first time, all Festival school ensemble concerts will be free and open to the public.
The Festival also includes three national honor ensembles: the Honor Band of America, the Honor Orchestra of America, and the Jazz Band of America. Individual musicians are selected by audition from across the country to come to Indianapolis to rehearse and perform under the direction of renowned conductors and with guest artists.
All Festival concerts are open to the public. Festival school ensemble concerts are free. Limited tickets are available for purchase for the Honor Band of America, Honor Orchestra of America, and Jazz Band of America concerts. Several featured concerts are listed below.
