LAWRENCE — On Saturday, Nov. 30, the City of Lawrence kicked off the holiday season with their 8th Annual “A Lawrence Christmas” celebrations. The free event featured a twilight parade, where various city departments competed for best float, activities for children, and the installation of a mailbox where children can send letters to Santa through Dec. 23 in the Sterrett Center on Otis Ave. The evening was capped off by the arrival of Santa and the lighting of the Christmas tree.
Hundreds braved the cold, and everything went off without a hitch, despite predictions of a wintry mix.
