INDIANAPOLIS — Martin University will host its second annual Give-A-Thon, sponsored by First Financial Bank, on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 – 5 p.m. It will be held at Martin in the Father Boniface Hardin Gathertorium located at 2186 N. Sherman Dr.
The Give-A-Thon will kick off on Friday, Dec. 6, from 6 – 10 p.m. with a benefit concert sponsored by WTLC FM 106.7. Alaina Renae and The Soul Lounge Band will perform. There will be food included in the ticket price, while supplies last, provided by Maxine’s Chicken and Waffles. The community is encouraged to attend. Tickets are $20 in advance at https://mu-concert.eventbrite.com or $30 the day of the event.
Give-A-Thon on Dec. 7 will be co-hosted by Pastor James W. Jackson and Rev. Dr. Wayne L. Moore. Special guests and local celebrities will appear throughout the event and include musical performances by Schawayna Raie, Rachael Martin Clark, DaVizion, and others. Children will have the opportunity to visit and/or take “selfies” with Santa.
The University is raising money for 50 new full-tuition student scholarships as well as enhancing technology infrastructure in order to offer online classes for the 2020-2021 academic year. The Give-A-Thon will air live on television station WHMB TV40 and Broadcast AM 1310 – FM 92.7 The Light.
