INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis residents will soon have a new place to gather on Massachusetts Avenue if a crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal to raise $30,000 by December 31. The campaign, led by the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) is using the CreatINg Places program sponsored by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) to make façade improvements to the District Theatre. Formerly Theatre on the Square, it operated by IndyFringe, and features year-round performances on a mainstage and a cabaret small stage.
If the campaign reaches its goal, the ‘District Theatre – Creating a Gathering Place’ project will receive a matching grant of $30,000 from IHCDA.
Visit www.patronicity.com/project/district_theatre__creating_a_gathering_place#!/ for project details and to donate.
The funds raised will be used to enhance the building’s lobby and exterior. Once completed, it will provide residents a space to gather, view local art and experience live music.
