INDIANAPOLIS — Flanner Buchanan is partnering for a second year with Operation Honor Guard, a non-profit that gives charitable assistance to organizations that provide military funerals for veterans and service members. Money raised will be used to purchase new honor guard uniforms for the Indy Metropolitan Military Honor Guard (IMMHG), an organization that renders final military honors to all veterans who have been honorably discharged or retired, regardless of race, color, religion or affiliation with a veteran’s organization.
Donations are encouraged and appreciated from Wednesday, October 2 (a Day of Giving) to Monday, November 11 (Veterans Day) and can be made by going on-line to www.flannerbuchanan.com.
Honor Guards use dedicated volunteer veterans; the cost of outfitting one member is more than $800. Ninety percent of funds collected will stay in the local community, with only ten percent going to administrative costs.
