INDIANAPOLIS — IndyGo has begun the transition to the new fare system. Beginning on Sunday, Sept. 15, single-trip pass is replaced by IndyGo’s new 2-Hour Transfer Ticket. The 2-Hour Transfer Ticket will give riders the added benefit of a two-hour window for free transfers. All riders with a 2-hour transfer ticket will be allowed to ride IndyGo local bus service and the Red Line for free within two hours of the purchase of the original fare.
Riders can purchase a 2-Hour Transfer Ticket or a day pass on the bus. Riders purchasing a single-trip at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center will receive their 2-Hour Transfer Ticket on the bus. Riders will insert the 2-hour transfer ticket into the farebox, which will time-stamp the ticket and validate it for two hours.
If riders use the ticket within the two-hour window and time is remaining on the ticket, riders will take the ticket with them and may continue to use it during the two-hour window.
Fares will remain $1.75 per trip for full-fare customers and $0.85 for half-fare customers. Day passes will also stay at $4.00 for full-fare customers and $2.00 for half-fare customers.
Additional MyKey components including the mobile application, Ticket Vending Machines, and reloadable cards will be available in the coming weeks. With the mobile application and reloadable cards, riders will have access to fare capping. Riders will be able to purchase MyKey fare through the MyKey mobile app, MyKey website, ticket vending machines, and through IndyGo Customer Service. Both cash and card will be accepted for MyKey fare at Customer Service and through ticket vending machines.
