INDIANAPOLIS — The Board of Public Works recently approved an Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) contract of nearly $1.8 million for the construction of a drainage improvement project in the Ivy Hills neighborhood.
Designed to address longstanding drainage issues on the northeast side of the city, DPW Project SD-05-043 will include drainage infrastructure improvements in several locations of the Ivy Hills neighborhood, including the intersections of Graham Road with Barnstable Court and with Attleboro Court; near the intersections of N Whittier Place with Susan Drive and with Kilmer Lane; and along E. 79th Street to Allisonville Road.
With construction expected between September 2019 and June 2020, project SD-05-043 will also include the retrofit of a pond east of Rucker Road to increase its capacity; specialized water quality infrastructure facilities will be installed just upstream of the pond.
In 2019, Indy DPW will invest more than $40 million in the study and construction of stormwater infrastructure projects to benefit the neighborhoods of Indianapolis. Between 2019 and 2022, planned investments will total more than $131 million.
