INDIANAPOLIS – Mayor Joe Hogsett announced this week that Castlewood Association of Neighbors is the city’s ‘Neighborhood of the Month’ for July 2019. The program highlights Indianapolis neighborhood initiatives, works to engage community groups, and promotes projects by City departments.
Located between Allisonville Road, Thrushwood Lane, 91st and 96th streets on the city’s northeast side, Castlewood Association of Neighbors (CAN) understands the meaning of lending a helping hand. The neighborhood association has a program known as CAN Neighbors Helping Neighbors. This program allows community members to apply for aid if they have experienced or currently experiencing hardships and/or illness. The neighbors often provide the assistance for the resident requesting support. The community is known to assist with yard work, donating food and more.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to use the hashtag #IndyNoM when posting on social media about Castlewood Association of Neighbors. To nominate your neighborhood for Neighborhood of the Month, visit: https://www.indy.gov/activity/neighborhood-of-the-Month.
