INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Repertory Theatre 2019-20 upcoming season will take audiences on a journey through modern and historical times, realistic and magical elements, and intense and heartwarming emotions. You will experience drama, beloved stories, mysteries, and new beginnings—all through varying viewpoints. With an expanded Exploring Stages schedule and design updates to A Christmas Carol, this season will be one of exciting changes, classic tales and fresh perspectives.
Twelve Angry Men runs Sept. 4-29. This historic American drama from the 1950s could have been written yesterday, with its provocative look at power, prejudice, and clashing perspectives. And So We Walked: An Artists Journey Along the Trail of Tears runs Oct. 15-Nov. 10 and is a one person show featuring Cherokee actor and artist DeLanna Studi on her quest to seek out her personal and cultural identity. Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol will be on stage from Nov. 16-Dec. 26 as an outstanding ensemble takes the audience on a journey to the true meaning of the holiday season. Morning After Grace from Jan. 14-Feb. 9 is a comedy with heart in a Florida retirement village. The Watsons Go to Birmingham — 1963 portrays a family caught up in an act of violence that shapes Civil Rights history. Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express is a classic whodunit starring the Hercule Poirot running from March 3 to 29. The Paper Dreams of Harry Chin, running from March 24-April 19, is a surreal journey in the life of Chinese immigrant. Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility is the beloved romance adapted to the stage and running April 14-May 10.
