Lawrence Community Shred-It Day April 27

LAWRENCE — The spring Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana Community Shred-It and Electronics Recycling Day will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the City of Lawrence Government Center, 9001 E.59th St.
Personal documents will be shredded for a $5 donation per box. Safely recycle personal devices and computers for a $10 fee for TVs and monitors (all other devices are free). Walgreens will take back any unused and unneeded prescription medications for safe disposal (no needles).

Free New Horizons Band Concert April 28

INDIANAPOLIS — The New Horizons Band of Indianapolis will present its Second Annual Concert on Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m. at Scecina Memorial High School, 5000 Nowland Ave. The program is free and open to the public.
The all-volunteer concert band was created to offer music-making opportunities for people who may have not played for a while, and caters to senior musicians. Part of an international organization, the New Horizons Band of Indy plays concerts in many venues around the area.

Solar Co-Op Launched in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — Solar United Neighbors recently launched its 12th state program in Indiana. The organization organizes solar co-ops to help neighbors go solar together to get cheaper equipment. In addition, they provide solar power education to teach residents and businesses about solar technology, installation, and economic impacts of solar power.
