Indiana Flower + Patio Show Inspires Hope for Spring

Sick of snow, ice, polar vortexes, potholes, scratchy sweaters and heavy boots? Yearning for another crack at a productive vegetable garden or flower bed? Become inspired, informed and energized at the 61st Indiana Flower + Patio Show. The show features showcase gardens crafted by many of Indiana’s premier landscapers, hundreds of finer outdoor living experts, and thousands of ideas, solutions and products to take home.
This year’s show will run from Saturday, March 9 through Sunday, March 17 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds – West Pavilion and Exposition Hall. Tickets are $15 per adult, and kids under 12 are free. Hours are Saturdays 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Monday-Friday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Host of DIY Networks’ “Lawn and Order,” “Yard Crashers” and appearing with wife Peyton on HGTV’s “Going Yard,” Chris Lambton is an expert in landscaping, hardscaping, garden planning, lawn care and maintenance for all areas of your outdoor living space. Chris appears Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, offering attendees landscaping tips and gardening know-how.
Landscape designer Sara Bendrick comes to the rescue of people who love their homes but hate their yards on DIY Network’s “I Hate My Yard.” She works with homeowners to create the outdoor living spaces they’ve always dreamed of! Sara will help Home Show attendees realize the opportunity of their exterior spaces when she appears on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10.
The Purdue Master Gardener Program trains gardening enthusiasts as volunteers to assist Purdue Extension with home horticulture education in communities throughout Indiana. See the Purdue Master Gardeners in Booth #508 at the Flower + Patio Show to discuss lawn care tips and common lawn problems with show attendees.
Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp has been writing and speaking about natural gardening for more than 25 years. She is a contributor to “Indiana Gardening” and “Edible Indy” magazines and has been writing a weekly gardening column since 1989. She is a garden coach and has a container planting business for both residential and commercial locations.
Carol Michel is a lifelong gardener and Indiana resident who claims to have the largest hoe collection in the world! On her award-winning blog, Carol features topics from vegetable gardening to the wisdom of old gardening books. She will offer tips on what to do in your spring garden along with her view on veggies when she appears at the Flower + Patio Show on Wednesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 14.
On Monday, March 11, the Indiana State Fairgrounds will host a food drive at the Flower + Patio Show to benefit Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana! Donate a canned good and receive a voucher for $4 off the price of adult admission at the box office. Come to the either of the show’s entrances at West Pavilion and Expo Hall on Monday ONLY, and help stop hunger with Gleaners.
