INDIANAPOLIS — The Blaine Jarrett Memorial Scholarship Fund, a fund managed by Buck Creek Players, is pleased to announce the availability of the Blaine Jarrett Memorial Scholarship. Any graduating high school senior or college freshman who is currently enrolled or accepted into a performing arts related major/minor at a college or university is eligible to apply. Majors/minors which will be considered include: dance, theater performance, technical theater, instrumental music, vocal music, or related field. Recipients will be based on the applicant’s participation, accomplishments, and involvement in the performing arts in the Central Indiana region. Recipients will receive a minimum scholarship of $1,000. Applications are available to download on the scholarship’s website, www.buckcreekplayers.com/scholarship.html, and must be postmarked no later than March 31 to be considered for a scholarship this year.
The Blaine Jarrett Memorial Scholarship Fund was started by Blaine’s family and friends. The first scholarship awards were made in 2008, and the fund has since been growing steadily thanks to the contributions of a variety of donors and various fundraising activities. Additional donations are continuously being sought and can be sent to BJMSF, 11150 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46259.
