IRVINGTON — Residents of Irvington are encouraged to attend a panel presentation with the Urban Land Institute and other stakeholders about the potential revitalization of Irvington Plaza. The meeting will be held on Friday, Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center, 5350 University. The meeting is open to the public.
Experts are beginning preliminary assessments about revitalization plans for the shopping plaza at the corner of Kitley and East Washington St. Built in the 1950s, Irvington Plaza was a busy shopping area until suburban shopping options lured customers away. The last major store, Marsh Supermarket, closed in 2017. The Dollar General will close in February.
