Applications Open for the 10th Class of the Public Safety Citizens Academy

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indy Public Safety Foundation is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 10th class of the Public Safety Citizens Academy (PSCA). The PSCA is a free, 12-week course designed to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the work the city’s first responders do each day to keep Indianapolis a safe place to live, work, play and visit. Participants will engage with and learn from our city’s first responders, including Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD), and Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS). The goal is to build relationships and increase engagement between first responders and the community members.
The PSCA will run every Thursday from March 7 through May 23, with classes being held at various public safety facilities throughout the city from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.  Participants will spend time with police, fire and EMS experts learning about the operations of Indy’s first responder agencies and engaging in discussions about pertinent public safety issues we face as a community.
Limited spots are available and traditionally, PSCA classes fill up within a matter of days. To participate in this free, impactful program, please visit IPSF’s Web site at www.indypsf.org to submit your application by Friday, Feb. 15.
