Lola, the Weekly View’s office cat, became ill in mid-October. Despite the best efforts of Judy, the good people at the FACE Clinic, and Animal Medical Center, Lola did not recover. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Oct. 22 in the loving arms of her person Judy.
Lola came to us a barn cat who had a couple of litters in rural southern Indiana, in 2013. Judy’s sister (and then co-owner of the Weekly View) Jeanne brought her to the FACE clinic to get her fixed and ready for a new fur-ever home. The adoption didn’t go through, and Lola took up residence in the office as the “office manager.”
Her duties at the paper included window watching for intruders, eating, sleeping on Judy’s desk, hiding from strangers, and patrolling the office. She had many fans and admirers, which she appreciated from afar.
Lola will be deeply missed by all of us here at the Weekly View. Sleep in peace, good kitty.
