INDIANAPOLIS —LISC will offer a discussion, “The Future of Work,” on Tues., Oct. 30 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at The Platform, 202 E. Market St.
Work, as we know it today, is evolving rapidly. Automation and artificial intelligence are driving changes in the nature of work, the structure of occupations, and skills necessary to earn a good living. Indianapolis will witness and participate in this changing marketplace of work over the next decade and beyond, as emerging technologies create new jobs, change the way jobs are performed, and eliminate jobs.
New America’s Molly Kinder will offer an overview of how vulnerable Indianapolis workers are to the effects of automation and technology. In addition, Deputy Mayor Jeff Bennett and Molly Martin will be on hand to discuss steps to be taken to make the region more livable and resilient to the changes. The event cost is $5 per person. Beer from Sun King Brewery and pretzels will be provided.
