INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Parks recently announced new hours for the Garfield Park Arts Center (GPAC). Beginning Sept. 10, GPAC will be open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Each year, GPAC serves over 15,000 visitors, provides more than 12 exhibitions, and guides dozens of classes and special events.
The center is launching new programming alongside current evening offerings such as Vintage Movie Nights, Bad Art Nights, exhibit opening receptions, and extended hours for the free Arts for All programs on Saturdays. GPAC’s hours will also boost daytime gallery hours, open studio programming for children during fall and winter breaks, and newly-developed field trip and afterschool programming with local schools.
Currently, GPAC offers classes in the visual and performing arts for audiences of all ages including Yoga in the Gallery, Clay Handbuilding, and Middle-Eastern Dance. And, staff helps guide efforts for First Fridays, Autumn Art Fair, English Country Dance, Ghoulish Garfield, Christmas at Garfield, and Valentine’s Day activities.
PAC will continue to host evening classes, club meetings, special events, and rentals.
