INDIANAPOLIS — More than 1,000 dogs and cats from more than 20 area animal shelter and rescue organizations will be up for adoption at the Indy Mega-Adoption Event on June 23 and June 24. The adoptable animals are a variety of ages, sizes and breeds. They already are fixed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. The adoption fee is $30, which is less than half the price normally charged in some area shelters. Pets will go home with their new owners the same day.
The event will be held noon-6 p.m. both days at the Indiana State Fairgrounds South Pavilion, 1202 E. 38th St. Admission to the event is free; parking at the Fairgrounds is $5.
