INDIANAPOLIS — There will be a “Howe to Learn” Reception on April 26 from 6:30-8:30 pm. at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center, 5355 University Ave. to raise money for the T.C. Howe High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. The 501c3 corporation and awards 10-12 scholarships to deserving Howe seniors every year. These students must achieve a certain grade point average, be involved in extracurricular activities and must have been active in community service.
The reception will include appetizers, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, with entertainment provided by the local musical duo DNA (a.k.a. Andy Wysong and Dave Smith) who are 1969 graduates of Howe. There will also be speakers that are involved with the school and a 2015 scholarship recipient.
Sponsors of the event include Irvington Community Council, CSUSA, Black Acre Brewing Co., Shirley Brothers Mortuaries, Freedom Mortgage, Howe Girls Euchre Club, Valerie Nadi Design, Fred Green ’56, Zed Day ’58, Ed Pearson ’65, Dwight Crowmer ’73, Marcy McDowell Meador ’75 and Lee Allison ’79.
