LAWRENCE — Four new paving projects are expected to begin, weather permitting, the first week of April. Department of Public Works/Code Enforcement Director Bill Anthony said the work is scheduled to be complete by the end of May.
Department of Public Works/Streets Director Dave Lotts said the four projects set for April are: 52nd Street, from Pendleton Pike to German Church Road; Mitthoefer Road from 52nd Street to Weeping Willow Drive; 59th Street, from Wheeler Road to Lee Road; and Sandalwood Drive, from Sinclair Drive to 52nd Street.
Anthony and Lotts said there may be temporary lane restrictions and ask citizens to plan accordingly. Anthony said, “Be mindful of the inconvenience these improvements pose, and plan ahead for temporary delays during construction on commute times.”
Lotts said, “Excercise caution as the road work is being done, and give the construction crews the space they need to complete their work. Remember, the lane restrictions will change as they are needed. We appreciate the public’s cooperation.”
Lotts said DPW crews will place the signage along the roadside as reminders to motorists along the construction routes.
