INDIANAPOLIS — The public is encouraged to attend one of several March – April IndyGo open houses about three specific projects: Purple Line Rapid Transit, Central Avenue 2 Way Street Conversion, and proposed downtown Super-Stops.
IndyGo and Indianapolis Department of Public Works are partnering to plan and construct changes on Central Avenue to allow two-way traffic between Fall Creek and 10th Street. www.IndyGo.net/TransitPlan. There will be a meeting Tues. March 20 at 6 p.m. at Indianapolis Fire Department Headquarters, 955 Fort Wayne Ave. and Wed., March 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Julia M. Carson Government Center, 300 E.Fall Creek Parkway North Dr.
IndyGo plans to improve transit stop infrastructure for better service on Alabama Street, Delaware Street, and Fort Wayne Avenue to accommodate the Transit Plan’s increased frequencies. www.IndyGo.net/SuperStops. Meetings will be held Mon., April 2 at 11:30 a.m. and at 6 p.m. at the Barton Annex, 501 N. East St.; Tues., April 3 at noon and 6:00 p.m. at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St.; Tues., April 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the English Foundation Building, 615 N. Alabama St.
IndyGo’s second planned rapid transit line will travel north on Meridian from the Transit Center, east on 38th Street, and north on Post Road to Lawrence. www.IndyGoPurple.com. Meetings will be held Thurs., March 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College Lawrence Campus, 9301 E 59th St.; Tues., April 3 at noon and 6:00 p.m. at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St., and Wed., April 11 at 6:00 p.m. at Avondale Meadows YMCA, 3908 Meadows Dr.
