• The Garfield Branch library, 2502 Shelby St., will offer Peas in a Pod: Preschool Snacking Workshop, on Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers and an adult are invited to join the Marion County Health Department to explore fruits and vegetables through games, stories and activities. • Help out Ben Herbertz’s Eagle Scout project at a chili dinner fundraiser Feb. 10 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Downey Ave. Christian Church cafe, 111 S. Downey. A chili, cornbread, drink and dessert meal is only $5, and the proceeds will help pay for improved drainage at the preschool playground.
• Irvington United Methodist Church is celebrating their 140th Anniversary Feb. 18 at 10:30 p.m. worship service. A $15 ticketed luncheon and silent auction will follow in Fellowship Hall. • Donate blood in the parking lot of the Irvington Library on Feb. 10 from 11 a.m.-2:35 p.m. The library is located at 5625 E. Washington St. on the corner of Audubon and E. Washington St.
• Eskenazi Health is now accepting applications for its 2018 VolunTEEN Summer Program. The annual VolunTEEN program allows teenagers to experience professional service and shadowing for students on a path to becoming health care professionals. Teenagers 14 to 19 years old who are interested in a career in health care and are in good academic standing are invited to sign up for the program. All applicants must turn 14 years old by Fri., April 13, 2018 to be eligible. • There’s still time to get your tickets to the Irvies, the first community awards ceremony revealing the winners in various categories for Irvington businesses and individuals who go above and beyond to make it a great place to live, work, and shop. The ceremony will be on Feb. 24 from 6-10 p.m. at the Irvington Lodge, 5515 E. Washington St., ticket prices include drinks from Black Acre, admission to the awards show, hors d’oeuvres by the Legend, an afterparty catered by Jockamo, music by Delta Duo and Charlie Balantine, and performances by Comedy Sportz.
