INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD’s highest ranking woman, Deputy Chief Valerie Cunningham will head up the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives or NAWLEE. The non-profit organization is committed to leading, inspiring and mentoring women of all ranks from law enforcement agencies across the United States.
NAWLEE is a resource organization on topical matters related to law enforcement. The organization is frequently asked to assist the IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police) in developing best practice policies, testify and support the National Law Enforcement Partnership to Prevent Gun Violence and participate in forums hosted by the BJA (Bureau of Justice Assistance) and the COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) offices within the Department of Justice.
