INDIANAPOLIS — A BCP audience favorite, all roles in the Play-A-Part Fundraisers are “won” through an online silent auction with no required auditions. Veteran performers join first-timers to give this classic musical a comedic twist much like The Carol Burnett Show or Saturday Night Live. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick Tinker Bell visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night, and with a sprinkle of pixie dust begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates, and of course the villainous Captain Hook.
The Buck Creek Players will open their 45th season of quality theater with the 2017 Play-A-Part Fundraiser, Peter Pan, based on the play by Sir J.M. Barrie, music by Morris “Moose” Charlap, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, additional music by Jule Styne, and additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Running for only four performances over a single weekend, performance times are at 8 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 4th, 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 5th, and 2:30 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 6th.
