The Arsenal Technical High School’s 103rd Commencement Ceremony was held Thurs., June 8. With Valedictorian Annie K. and Salutatorian Daniela L. leading the way, the seniors took the traditional march from the Cafeteria past the fountain and into a packed, standing-room-only gymnasium. Dr. Yvonne Stokes, IPS Academic Improvement Officer, Michael O’Connor, IPS Board Commissioner, Scott Martin, IPS Deputy Superintendent for Operations, and Keynote Speaker, Tanae Howard, Fox 59 News, greeted the students as they crossed the stage to receive their diplomas from Principal Bakehorn. Class President Kiara M. led the tassel ceremony, cheers erupted, and the Class of 2017 paraded out as the Tech band, led by director Brandon Anderson, played the traditional march of “Pomp and Circumstance.”
